UPSC CSAT Mock Tests

CSAT is a qualifying paper, which means the goal is a safe pass, not a high score. That changes how you should practise.

Treat CSAT as a risk to remove

Because the paper only has to be cleared, the biggest danger is neglecting it and then discovering in the exam that comprehension passages or numeracy took longer than planned. Regular short tests keep the risk low without stealing time from General Studies.

Areas to practise

  • Reading comprehension: the largest block; accuracy here is the safest route to a pass
  • Logical reasoning and analytical ability: series, arrangements and syllogisms
  • Basic numeracy and data interpretation: Class 10 level mathematics applied to tables and charts

A light but steady routine

Two short tests a week are enough for most candidates who are comfortable with the topics, while those who are not should add a third. Always attempt comprehension passages first, since they are the most predictable marks, then decide how much time to give the quantitative questions. The practice habits in building a reading comprehension routine help here too.
