Phase 1: chapter tests while you study
Do not wait until the syllabus is finished. After completing a chapter, take a short test of 15 to 20 questions on it. This keeps retention high and exposes weak chapters while there is still time to fix them. Use the section pages for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics to pick tests by subject.
Phase 2: sectional timing
Once most chapters are covered, move to 30-question sectional tests under a clock. The aim is to learn your natural pace per subject and decide your section order for the paper.
Phase 3: full papers
In the last two to three months, attempt a full paper every week or two and give a full day to reviewing it. Track three numbers: score, accuracy and questions left blank. A rising score with falling accuracy suggests guessing; a flat score with high blanks suggests topic gaps.
The review habit
For each mistake, write the reason in one line and the fix in another. Revisit this log weekly. If you want a template, see our JEE Main mock-test guide and how to build an error log.
