Why Mathematics needs timed practice
Understanding a topic is not enough in JEE Main Mathematics; you also need a method that finishes inside two or three minutes. Untimed practice hides slow approaches. Timed section tests expose them, and show you which chapters you should simply skip on exam day.
Core areas
- Algebra: quadratic equations, sequences, complex numbers, permutations and combinations, binomial theorem
- Calculus: limits, differentiation, integration and differential equations
- Coordinate geometry: straight lines, circles and conic sections
- Vectors and 3D geometry, probability and statistics
Question selection is a skill
In a mock, make a first pass through the section and mark questions as quick, medium or long. Attempt quick and medium ones first and return to the long ones only if time remains. Record how many minutes each chapter costs you; over five or six tests a pattern emerges that tells you where preparation time pays off.
