Exam Day Checklist for Computer-Based Tests
06 Oct 2026 · TestMint Team
On exam day, avoidable problems cost more than hard questions. A short checklist prevents most of them.
The night before
- Print or save your admit card and keep a valid photo ID ready
- Check the centre address and plan your route and travel time
- Pack only what is allowed, and read the instructions on the admit card again
- Sleep early
The morning
Eat a light meal, and arrive in good time. Keep your phone switched off or deposited as per the centre's rules.
The first ten minutes
Read the on-screen instructions fully. Check that your name and the test details are correct and that the interface works. Take two slow breaths before starting.
During the test
Follow your plan for time and section order. Use the question palette and flags as you practised, and keep rough work organised.
If something goes wrong
If your system freezes or the screen shows an error, raise your hand immediately and inform the invigilator. Do not try to fix it yourself.
Practise the format in advance with the tips in how to practise for computer-based exams. Always rely on the instructions of your exam authority over any general checklist. For final-week planning, see the last-week plan.
