The Last Week Before Your Exam: A Day-by-Day Plan
06 Oct 2026 · TestMint Team
The last week is for consolidation, not new learning. A calm plan keeps your preparation sharp without burning you out.
Days 7 to 5: consolidate
Take one full mock, then spend the next two days on its review and your short notes. Fix errors that repeat; ignore one-off slips.
Days 4 to 3: light practice
Do short sectional tests and topic sets rather than long papers. Practise your timing plan: which section first, how long on each, when to flag and return.
Day 2: final review
Read your formula sheet and fact lists once. Do not start new topics. If you still want practice, choose a short, easy set to maintain confidence.
Day 1: prepare logistics
Confirm your admit card, centre location, travel time and permitted items. Pack the night before, and use the exam-day checklist. Sleep early.
What to avoid
- Taking several full mocks back to back
- Comparing scores with others
- Changing your strategy completely at the last minute
For earlier planning, see the 30-day preparation plan and the guide to handling exam anxiety. Keep a few practice tests handy for short sets.
