Banking Exam Mock Test Preparation Strategy

Banking exams are won on sectional timing. Mock tests train you to use every minute of each timed section.

Respect the sectional timer

Many banking exams run each section on its own clock, so you cannot borrow time from one to rescue another. Mock tests should therefore use sectional timers, not a single clock, to build real pacing.

Build speed topic by topic

Use topic sets for simplification, data interpretation and puzzles, and then combine them into sections: Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning and English.

Choose puzzles wisely

A single puzzle can carry several questions. Learn to judge a puzzle in the first minute and skip those with open-ended conditions. This one habit is often worth more marks than extra formula practice.

Prelims and mains

If you appear for exams with mains stages, add banking and general awareness practice as the exam approaches. For an extended walk-through, see our banking mock-test guide.
