Computer Awareness Basics for Banking Exams

06 Oct 2026 · TestMint Team

Computer awareness is a small syllabus that rewards structured revision. Two weeks of short sessions are enough for many candidates.

The five topic groups

  • Hardware: input, output and storage devices; the CPU and its parts
  • Memory: RAM, ROM, cache and secondary storage; units from bit to terabyte
  • Software: system and application software, operating systems, translators
  • Networking and internet: LAN, WAN, protocols, browsers and email terms
  • Shortcuts and file types: common keyboard shortcuts and extensions

Two-week plan

Take one group every two days, and finish with mixed quizzes on days 11 to 14. Use computer awareness practice tests after each group.

Learn pairs and contrasts

Exam questions often rest on contrasts: RAM versus ROM, compiler versus interpreter, LAN versus WAN. Create a one-line contrast for each pair.

Check your syllabus

Computer knowledge appears in some banking stages and not others, so confirm in the notification of your exam. For a wider banking plan, read the banking strategy guide and see the banking awareness page.
