XAT Verbal and Logical Ability Mock Tests

XAT verbal passages are known for dense, abstract writing. Practice here means getting comfortable with unfamiliar ideas, not only with vocabulary.

A harder reading style

Compared with other management exams, XAT often uses literary, philosophical or social-science passages with subtle arguments. Candidates benefit from reading beyond news: essays, long-form journalism and book reviews.

Skills to build

  • Following nuance in an author's tone and argument
  • Critical reasoning and logical inference questions
  • Vocabulary in context and sentence-level usage

In the mock test

Choose passages by how quickly you form an understanding of the main idea, not by length alone. Keep notes on questions where two options felt right and examine what separated them. Combine with the other XAT sections: Decision Making and Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation. The overall plan is in the XAT strategy guide.
