XAT General Knowledge Mock Tests

General Knowledge in XAT is a separate component, so it deserves its own light but steady routine rather than being left to the last month.

A wide, shallow syllabus

Questions draw on current affairs, business and economy, history, geography, culture and international events. Because the range is broad and the questions are often factual, steady exposure beats occasional cramming.

A manageable routine

  • Read one quality newspaper or news summary daily
  • Keep a notebook of business and economic developments
  • Take a short quiz twice a week, such as static GK practice

In the mock

Check how this component is treated in the latest XAT notification, since its role in selection can differ from the main sections. Practise it in a short block at the end of your mock, as you would on exam day, and review misses in a running list.

See Decision Making, the XAT paper pattern and the XAT hub.
