MAT Language Comprehension Mock Tests

The language section of MAT blends grammar, vocabulary and short passages, so a daily reading and grammar habit pays off quickly.

Mixed formats in a tight window

Expect passages with factual and inference questions alongside grammar, usage and vocabulary items. Because the questions are short, the section is faster than CAT VARC, but also less forgiving of careless reading.

What to cover

  • Core grammar: tenses, agreement, prepositions and conjunctions
  • Vocabulary: synonyms, antonyms, idioms and one-word substitutions
  • Reading short passages quickly for the central idea

Making it stick

Set aside 20 minutes daily: ten for vocabulary, ten for a passage or a grammar set. In mocks, note which question type you consistently miss and give it its own weekly test. For a compact grammar study sequence, see our grammar guide.
