How to Use Mock Tests for NEET Preparation
06 Oct 2026 · TestMint Team
NEET is a test of accuracy as much as knowledge. A mock test is the only place where you can measure exactly how many marks you are losing to wrong answers.
Measure the cost of wrong answers
After every test, compute how many marks you gained from correct answers and how many you lost from incorrect ones. If a subject loses more than a quarter of what it earns, your attempt policy there is too aggressive. Our note on negative marking shows how to set a guessing rule.
Tie tests to NCERT revision
For Biology, take a chapter test the day after you finish reading the chapter, and again two weeks later. Questions you get wrong twice go into a short list you read every weekend. This is spaced repetition applied to NEET, described in our spaced repetition guide.
A balanced routine
- Two Biology blocks a week from NEET Biology tests
- One Chemistry and one Physics block, using Chemistry and Physics sets
- One full paper on the weekend once most of the syllabus is done
Stamina matters
NEET is a long sitting. In the last two months take full papers at the real start time so your concentration peaks when the exam does. For a complete plan, see the NEET preparation strategy and browse NEET mock tests.
