GATE Core Subject Mock Tests

The core subject carries the largest share of GATE marks. Mock tests show whether you can apply concepts under time pressure, not just recall them.

Depth over breadth

The technical part tests concepts across your branch syllabus, in multiple-choice, multiple-select and numerical-answer formats. Multiple-select questions need every correct option, so partial understanding is not enough.

Routine for the core subjects

  • Break the syllabus into subjects and weight them by marks
  • Test each subject soon after revising it, then revisit after two weeks
  • Build a bank of formulas and standard results for each subject

Full-length practice

As the exam approaches, take complete three-hour papers under real conditions and review them in detail. Notice where speed drops in the last hour and adapt your time per section. Our article on using mock tests for GATE covers the process in more detail.
