A sample question from this test
Two trains of lengths 455 m and 455 m run in opposite directions at 108 km/h and 144 km/h. In how many seconds will they cross each other?
- 13
- 14
- 20
- 12
Answer: A. 13. Relative speed = (108 + 144) × 5/18 = 70 m/s. Distance = 455 + 455 = 910 m. Time = 910 ÷ 70 = 13 seconds.
How to approach this test
Convert km/h to m/s with 5/18, add the train length to the platform or other train when crossing, and add speeds only when trains run in opposite directions.
This set leans hard, with multi-step questions, so treat it as a stretch: attempt the questions you can see a method for first and return to the rest. At 25 questions in 40 minutes, you have about 96 seconds per question on average. After you submit, review every wrong or guessed answer using the explanations.
