A sample question from this test
A boat can travel at 23 km/h in still water and the stream flows at 7 km/h. How long (in hours) will it take to go 240 km downstream?
- 11
- 13
- 9
- 8
Answer: D. 8. Downstream speed = 23 + 7 = 30 km/h. Time = 240 ÷ 30 = 8 hours.
How to approach this test
Downstream speed is boat plus stream and upstream is boat minus stream; the boat speed is half the sum of the two and the stream speed half their difference.
This set mixes straightforward questions with a few that need an extra step, so it works well as a checkpoint once the basics are comfortable. At 25 questions in 40 minutes, you have about 96 seconds per question on average. After you submit, review every wrong or guessed answer using the explanations.
